Like Mahumodo battling Deftones with the crème of the British
progressive metal scene refereeing, Southend’s Between the Screams
have spent the last year honing a sound as cinematic and expansive as it
is heavy. Shows supporting the likes of Devil sold his soul, Latitudes,
Humanfly, The Miramar disaster and Atlantis have seen the band gain
favourable reviews in press such as Rocksound and airtime on the Radio1
Rock show. A Rocksound/KBY show at Camden’s Barfly in December 07
set the band up perfectly for the year ahead, gaining them a 9/10 live
review and KBY Band of the month. In early 08 the debut ‘Embryo’ was
completed with ‘Mark Williams’ (DSHS, *shels, Mahumodo, Sikth) at
Criterion/Battery Studios in London, following on from this BTS will record
their debut album in September this year with Jonny Renshaw of Devil
sold his soul manning the desk.
